Step 2:  Upload your movie by XX.XX.XXXX on the media section on our website. The Jury will assess your clip and you will get your valuations by XX.XX.XXXX.

Step 3: If you are one of the 10 best participants, you will get your invitation to the rewarding ceremony.



On August 12 at 2pm, the Film Festival will present a special screening of WALKING OUT at Upstate Films in Woodstock. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with guests; directors Andrew Smith and Alex Smith.

An urban teenager journeys to Montana to hunt big game with his estranged father. Father and son struggle to connect, until a brutal encounter in the heart of the wilderness changes everything.

The independent jury of the ZEISS Cine Awards consists of top-class experts such as actors, directors, cinematographers and media professionals.

It is important to us that the jury members come from different areas of the film landscape in order to give as much as possible of a different view to the films.

The directors of the 3 best clips will receive a voucher for lenses and other engraved ZEISS products. The schools of the winning directors will receive a complete set of lenses as well.

The ten best 10 participants will receive an invitation to the companies headquarter located in Oberkochen. Within a guided tour through the ZEISS production, you will get deep insights on how to produce and maintain a high-tech lens.

Besides the hardware prices you get the opportunity to get your work assessed by a jury consisting of the industries finest experts. You will have the opportunity to get your work evaluated face to face by those experts and maybe you will be able to create first contacts for your further career.


The overall theme of the ZEISS Cine Award is „meaningful moment“. The Award is supposed to discover, challenge and support young talents. The company ZEISS honors high quality, especially when produced with a very limited budget. Your movie should be 2:30 minutes in total showing your ideas on “meaningful moment”. Except for theme and length of movie, there is nothing that channels your creative thinking. If your movie is one of the 10 best, you will get your invitation to the reward ceremony by 20.09.2018 via mail service.



In order to make sure everyone has the same chances, we have to limit the participation to active students and students that are post studies for less than 2 years.
